Red In Circle Launches “MISSION SOUTH” to Support Families in Southern Border Villages
Red In Circle officially launched “MISSION SOUTH,” a humanitarian initiative supporting families in southern border villages through educational assistance, winter heating and essential humanitarian aid. The initiative aims to strengthen community resilience, preserve local identity and help families remain on their land.

Red In Circle launched its humanitarian initiative, “MISSION SOUTH,” during a press conference hosted at Liqaa Hotel in Rabweh, aiming to support residents of southern border villages and strengthen their ability to overcome living challenges and remain on their land.
The conference brought together a number of ambassadors, diplomats and representatives of foreign missions, mayors, religious leaders and representatives of religious orders, mukhtars, school principals and business leaders, as well as representatives of the United Nations, international and humanitarian organizations, Civil Defense, the Lebanese Red Cross and the Maronite League. MP Ghada Ayoubi also attended as the project’s Goodwill Ambassador.
The event opened with a documentary showcasing the association’s activities and charitable initiatives across Lebanon, followed by a presentation outlining the project’s objectives and key pillars. The initiative focuses on providing essential support to help southern families remain in their villages, particularly in education, heating and the delivery of humanitarian assistance.
Red In Circle President Nesrine El Hosni announced the launch of an educational support programme targeting early education in border villages and southern peripheral areas. The initiative aims to support children and enable them to continue their education within their communities. She emphasized that education is a fundamental right for every child and that schools represent spaces of learning, safety, belonging and childhood preservation.
El Hosni also highlighted that the association has been working on the ground since the beginning of the crisis to assist affected families, stressing the importance of providing a supportive educational and social environment that allows children to continue their studies and remain on their land.
For her part, MP Ghada Ayoubi, the project’s Goodwill Ambassador, stressed that preserving the historical presence of communities in southern border villages is a national and humanitarian responsibility, closely linked to Lebanon’s identity and diversity. She warned against temporary displacement turning into permanent migration, emphasizing that resilience requires securing the essentials of a dignified life, from education and heating to safe access to villages. She added that protecting the land begins with protecting its people, supporting families and empowering future generations to remain and return.
Project CEO Shadi Fayad presented its three main pillars:
- Education: Contributing to school tuition fees and providing 1,500 school bags and 1,500 laptops.
- Heating: Providing diesel fuel to families throughout the winter season.
- Humanitarian Assistance: Coordinating with relevant authorities to facilitate safe access to border villages and deliver essential supplies to residents.
Fayad explained that the project offers several donation options, including contributions towards school fees and heating. He called on Lebanese citizens in Lebanon and abroad, business leaders, companies and international humanitarian organizations to join efforts in supporting southern communities. He emphasized that everyone is welcome to contribute and that supporting these families is a shared humanitarian responsibility that helps sustain life in border areas and preserve their Lebanese identity.
The conference was moderated by media personality Dr. Maurice Matta, who highlighted the importance of supporting residents of southern villages, preserving their connection to their land and ensuring access to the essentials of a dignified life, including education, heating and basic necessities.
The conference concluded by reaffirming that “MISSION SOUTH” marks the beginning of a humanitarian journey that Red In Circle intends to expand through additional initiatives responding to needs on the ground, while inviting individuals and institutions to contribute to the project’s objectives.
“We are proud of their resilience… and we stand by their side.”
